ADULT: Length of body and cephalothorax - 7 - 10mm. A variable species with a dark, distinct V-shape on the abdomen above which there a two pincer like markings. The body colour is a mixture of orangey-browns. The legs are alternately dark and light brown. BEHAVIOUR: Tends to frequent reeds or wooden walkways around small ponds. HABITAT: Frequent throughout becoming more localised northwards. DISTRIBUTION: Almost always around water especially reeded ponds. PERIOD: All year round.
