DESCRIPTION: Up to 9mm this small shieldbug is almost always found within a small colony on the foodplant. A small creature with a magenta colour throughout with a green to bronze sheen.  The triangular bronze patch at the base of the scutellum is distinctive. BEHAVIOUR: Usually seen on leaves of foodplant (Woundwort) and occassionally on White Dead Nettle. DISTRIBUTION: Common in southern and central England and southern Wales. HABITAT: Hedgerows and woodland edges or wherever foodplant is abundant. PERIOD: May to September.
