| DESCRIPTION: Up to 30mm long these stunning predators are always nice to turn-up with their black violet tinted colours. The fused wing cases are oval and flattened around the edges. BEHAVIOUR: Nocturnal feeders living under loose bark and stones by day. Feeds on other insects and slugs. A fst moving species.  DISTRIBUTION: Common throughout. HABITAT: Generally woodlands, gardens or parks where there is plenty of places to seek refuge. PERIOD: March to October.  |
