DESCRIPTION: Up to 8.5mm in length. An elongated sexually dimorphic grass bug with males greenish-yellow with a thick black stripe running along the upper surface and females lacking this stripe and being much paler throughout. The key identification features are the smooth pronotum, the dark hairs on the 1st antennal segment and the hind tibia and the longitudinal furrow between the eyes. BEHAVIOUR: There are two generations per year with the females of the autumn generation being larger and much pinker than those of the summer generation. DISTRIBUTION: Common throughout. HABITAT: Open and dry grassy areas. PERIOD: Adults can be seen all year round but the summer months are best.
