DESCRIPTION: Length up to 3.5 - 4.5mm. A gingery brown and white bug that is best identified by the dark tipped antennae, the punctated head, scutellum and wings, the three rows of punctures on the clavus and the large white area on the scutellum. There several black marks throughout particularly on the corium. BEHAVIOUR: Males are known to stridulate when at rest and in flight. DISTRIBUTION: Well distributed throughout southern England in the right habitat, becoming scarcer in northern areas. HABITAT: A lover of heathland where there is plenty of the association plant, Heather. PERIOD: Found all year round but easier to see in the summer months.
