DESCRIPTION: Up to 12mm. Immature adults in late summer have red and purple markings whereas fully mature specimens that are reproductively viable in the spring have an overall yellowish-green look. The antennae are red and the sides of the abdomen are blue. BEHAVIOUR: Usually seen on Gorse but can be found on Broom and other similar legumes. DISTRIBUTION: Fairly common and local throughout. HABITAT: Hedgerows, woodland edges, coastal or wherever foodplant is found. PERIOD: April to October.
