DESCRIPTION: Approximately 20mm long this flat bodied beetle is entirely red except for the black legs and comb-like antennae. BEHAVIOUR: Usually on flowers looking for their prey (smaller insects) which they catch and fly off with. DISTRIBUTION: Throughout the UK. HABITAT: Around flowers within or on the edges of woodland. PERIOD: May to July.
