DESCRIPTION: A slightly smaller larva than its relative the Elephant Hawkmoth and one more ornately patterned with the grey-brown body covered in a black-line sub-marbled effect. The eye-spots at the front of the abdomen are are edged in white and are fairly rounded and the usual sphingid horn at the rear is absent and replaced by two low warts. FOODPLANT: Bedstaws and Willowherbs. SEASON: Occasionally found in Britain.
