DESCRIPTION: 47mm. Pale green with inconspicuous yellow lines along the back and sides. Heavily spotted with black all over and sparsely bristly. FOODPLANT: The larva eats its eggshell on hatching and is gregarious, feeding alongside its siblings until fully-grown. The larvae accumulate poisonous oils in their bodies as they feed. Feeds on various Crucifers as well as Nasturtium and Wild Mignonette. SEASON: May to August. |
