DESCRIPTION: Can grow up to 2 and a half inches in length. Greenish brown in colour with stunning blue and deep red cross lines and red tipped spines. Generally broad and flattened in appearance. Front pincers are longer than carapace which is scattered in hairs. When disturbed the tail is flexed and they move backwards. DISTRIBUTION: Abundant throughout except North Eastern coasts of England and Scotland. HABITAT: Located under rocks and stones on lower shore. BEST TIME TO SEE: All year round.
