CAP: 5-8cm wide. Fibrous, grey to dark grey
with central umbo. White fibres give a silky grey
appearance. Starting conical eventually umbonate. Margin
fibrillose. STIPE: Whitish to pale grey. Even and rather
brittle. GILLS/PORES: Gills are pale grey, notched and lightly
spaced. FLESH: Pale and somewhat rather fragile. SPORES: White, elliptic. HABITAT: Coniferous woodland especially with rich soil. SEASON: Common, autumn. EDIBILITY: Edible. |
