FRUIT BODY: 3-12cm wide. Brain like mass of gelatinous reddish
brown to brown leaf-like lobes. Shiny surface becoming shrivelled,
crisp and eventually black when dry only to revive when damper
conditions return. GILLS/PORES: N/A. FLESH: Soft, gelatinous, concolorous with fruit body. SPORES: White, subglobose. HABITAT: Broad leaf trees and rarely on conifers. Parasitic
on a variety of crust fungi. SEASON: Frequent. All year round. EDIBILITY: Edible. |
