CAP: 5-11cm in diameter. Wide and broadly convexed. Dry
and felted that becomes slimy when wet. STIPE: Thick, yellow brown and swollen slightly towards the base. GILLS/PORES: Large, angular pores that are olive brown to rust which
stain blue when bruised or touched. FLESH: Pale ochre with aroma of Scleroderma. SPORES: Brown to greenish yellow, spindle shaped. HABITAT: In small troops amongst leaf litter in pine forests. SEASON: Frequent. Summer to late autumn. EDIBILITY: Edible and tasty. |
