| FRUIT BODY: 10-25cm in diameter.  Kidney shaped bracket that
        starts as a round white and brown ball.  Upon expansion the pale
        brown upper surface becomes cracked and flaky.  GILLS/PORES: Pores white becoming pale grey brown.  Circular. FLESH: White and rubbery.  Tastes slightly bitter but has
      pleasant fragrance. SPORES: White, bean-shaped. HABITAT: On the trunks of silver birch. SEASON: Very common.  All year round. EDIBILITY: Inedible. |
