CAP: 7-15cm wide.  Starting convex becoming expanded,
        rarely flat.  Golden yellow to orange-yellow cap and covered with
        numerous brown upturned scales. STIPE: Bare and yellow towards the apex but covered in scales (as
        in cap) below. GILLS/PORES: Gills are waxy yellow when young turning rust brown. 
        Crowded, sinuate and slightly decurrent. FLESH: Dirty yellow throughout.  Bitter taste and smell
      reminiscent of radish. SPORES: Pale brown, ellipsoid. HABITAT: In clusters at the base of broadleaf trees. SEASON: Common.  Late summer to early winter. EDIBILITY: Inedible.  |
