CAP: 5-12cm in diameter. Funnel shaped with wavy,
inrolled margin. Tawny brown, darker towards the
centre. STIPE: Whitish buff, woolly at the base. Becoming hollow. GILLS/PORES: Gills are strongly decurrent, starting white becoming
yellow-orange then tawny. Narrow and crowded. FLESH: Pale cream to tan, thin. SPORES: Cream, subglobose, slightly roughened. HABITAT: In groups in coniferous and broadleaved woodland. SEASON: Common. Summer to early winter. EDIBILITY: Edible but poor. |
