CAP: 3-11cm in diameter.  Convex at first eventually becoming expanded with occasional umbo.  Ochraceous tawny to bay brown with darker patches.  Viscid. STIPE: Concolorous with cap and covered in whitish scales.  Viscid and whitish towards the apex. GILLS/PORES: Gills have overtones of pale lilac when young later turning pale clay then rust. FLESH: Light yellow except below cap cuticle and in lower stem where it is brownish. SPORES: Rust brown, almond shaped. HABITAT: Wet, boggy areas with poplar, willow, birch, beech and oak. SEASON: Rare, summer to late autumn. EDIBILITY: Inedible.
