FRUIT BODY: 10 - 25cm in diameter. Thick fan-shaped bracket with a slightly hairy, pale upper surface that is zoned and markedly uneven. Usually has a greenish tint due to algal growth. GILLS/PORES: The pores are slot-like and start off white becoming cream coloured. FLESH: White, flexible and tough. SPORES: White, subcylindrical. HABITAT: In tiers on fallen deciduous trunks especially Beech. SEASON: Frequent. Throughout the year. EDIBILITY: Inedible. |
