CAP: 4 - 9cm in diameter.  A stunning mushroom with a cap that is dark brown, radially-streaked with tiny blackish scales that starts convex and becomes flatter with a broad umbo. Irregular ridges covered the surface. STIPE: Up to 9cm tall and concolorous with cap. GILLS/PORES: The gills are free and close starting white and gradually becoming pink with a dark brown edge. FLESH: White flesh and firm. SPORES: Pink. Sub-globose. HABITAT: Well rotted hardwood. SEASON: Autumn. EDIBILITY: Edible.
