CAP: 5-30cm in diameter.  A large mushroom with a tan fibrillose cap that starts convex and becomes more flattened with age. The flesh bruises yellow around the edges. STIPE: Has a skirt-like ring, white and smooth above and scaly below. Bruising yellowish. GILLS/PORES: Gills are free from the stem and start pale before becoming dark brown at maturity. FLESH: Thick and pale becoming reddish with age. Distinct almond smell. SPORES: Chocolate brown, ellipsoid. HABITAT: Both deciduous or coniferous woodland.SEASON: Frequent. Late summer to autumn. EDIBILITY: Excellent.
