20th August 2018 - River Mersey, Stockport, Cheshire - A mass of Cyathus striatus had appeared in its usual spot, a few hefty specimens of Paxillus involutus were on woodchip and a small troop of Psathyrella candolleana were growing besides Red Dogwood.
 
20th August 2018 - Sugar Brook Farm, Altrincham, G. Manchester - Daedaleopsis confragosa and Coprinellis disseminatus were 2 fungal species seen whilst on a trip with a Young Carers group.
 
19th August 2018 - Knott Hill NR, G Manchester - A fungal mooch to get the eyes back in the zone, a list of 43 species was the result:- Belonidium sulphureum; Puccinia arenariae; Bisporella sulfurina; Claviceps purpurea; Exidia nucleata; Auricularia auricula-judae; Trametes versicolor; Stereum hirsutum; Psathyrella candolleana; Calocera cornea; Clitopilus prunulus; Melanotus horizontalis; Mycena galopus; Hypocrea pulvinata; Fomitopsis betulina; Torula herbarum; Gymnopus peronatus; Pleurotus ostreatus; Ganoderma australe; Dacrymyces stillatus; Xylaria longipes; Trichoderma viride; Coprinellis disseminatus; Pluteus cervinus; Polyporus squamosus; Crepidotus mollis; Mycena acicula; Mycena tenerrima; Marasmiellus ramealis; Calocera pallido-spathulata; Hypoxylon petriniae; Rhytisma acerinum; Erysiphe heraclei; Microsphaera alphitoides; Phragmidium violaceum; Puccinia epilobii; Trochila ilicina; Phacidium multivalve; Gymnopus confluens; Annulohypoxylon multiforme; Daedaleopsis confragosa; Phragmidium mucronatum and Phloeomana speirea.
 
18th August 2018 - Marbury CP, Cheshire - A wander looking for galls, a few fungi were noted along the way:- several specimens of Neoboletus luridiformis were looking splendid; Marasmius rotula was on buried debris; Scleroderma verrucosum was found by a member of the group; Puccinia veronicae was spied on an Enchanter's Nightshade leaf, Bjerkandera adusta was looking fresh and Cyathus olla was a lovely turn up whilst looking at a dried up cap and stem specimen. Phragmidium violaceum; Ganoderma australe; Annulohypoxylon multiforme; Hyphodontia sambuci; Hypomyces chrysospermus and Trametes gibbosa were a few others I picked out. Microscopy later revealed Psathyrella candolleana; Parasola leiocephala and Russula amoenolens.
 
13th August 2018 - Bruntwood Park, Stockport, Cheshire - A bike ride and only a few fungi seen:- Coleosporium tussilaginis; Polyporus squamosus; Pleurotus ostreatus; Meripilus giganteus and Marasmius rotula.
 
12th August 2018 - Bramhall Park, Stockport, Cheshire - A slow wander whilst trying to clear the head from many stresses. The fungus list was as follows:- Phaeolus schweinitzii; Pucciniastrum epilobii; Puccinia caricina var, ribesii-pendulae; Auricularia auricula-judae; Trametes versicolor; Stereum hirsutum; Trochila ilicina; Laetiporus sulphureus; Polyporus squamosus; Pluteus cervinus; Marasmius rotula; Coleosporium tussilaginis; Daedaleopsis confragosa; Puccina menthae; Ganoderma australe; Microsphaera alphitoides; Puccinia circaeae; Heterobasidion annosum; Trichaptum abietinum; Fomitopsis betulinus; Calocera pallido-spathulata; Pleurotus ostreatus; Mensularia radiata; Trametes gibbosa; Bjerkandera adusta; Rhytisma acerinum; Erysiphe heraclei; Phragmidium violaceum; Erysiphe circaeae; Xerula radicata and the myxos Fuligo septica and Lycogala epidendrum.
 
7th August 2018 - Fletcher Moss, G. Manchester - Podosphaera ferruginea; Phyllachora junci; Lachnum diminutum; Hymenoscyphus vitellinus and Mycoacia uda were 2 fungi seen whilst looking for bugs.
 
4th August 2018 - Fairhaven RSPB, Lancashire - Puccinia alli was seen whilst having a leisurely stroll before some non-league footy.
1st August 2018 - Heaton Moor, Stockport, G. Manchester - A few few fungi were noted on my dinnertime stroll:- 2 specimens of Neoboletus luridiformis were seen growing in association with Lime; Hypomyces chrysosperma was covering a dried out and therefore unidentifiable Bolete and Puccinia violae was seen on some low growing Violet leaves. Agaricus bitorquis was later identified usung macro and micro features.
 
28th July 2018 - Marshside RSPB, Lancashire - A small cluster of Marasmius oreades was seen whilst on the prowl for bugs.
 
28th July 2018 - Mere Sands Wood, Lancashire - A walk with a few decent folk, the fungi were sparse:- Pleurotus ostreatus; Fomitopsis betulinus; Ganoderma australe; Pluteus cervinus; Microbotryum violaceum; Puccinia circaeae; Pucciniastrum circaeae; Belonidium sulphureum; Torula herbarum; Periconia byssoides; Cyathicula cyathoidea; Hypoxylon fragiforme; Trametes versicolor; Annulohypoxylon multiforme and Laetiporus sulphureus was all that we found, better than a kick up the arse I suppose.
 
22nd July 2018 - Lathkill Dale, Derbyshire - A wander and only 7 fungi seen:- Inonotus hispidus; Xylaria longipes; Ganoderma australe; Claviceps purpurea and Puccinia menthae; Neorysiphe galeopsidis and Rhytisma acerinum.
 
21st July 2018 - Fletcher Moss, G. Manchester - A stroll under cloudy skies and a few fungi noted:- Marasmius rotula; Polyporus tuberaster; Datronia mollis; Stereum hirsutum; Puccinia circaeae; Erysiphe heraclei; Microsphaeria alphitoides; Coleosporium tussilaginis; Claviceps purpurea; Trametes versicolor; Puccinia caricina var, ribesii-pendulae; Pleurotus ostreatus; Phacidium multivalve; Trochila ilicina; Rhytisma acerinum; Coprinopsis lagopus; Agrocybe rivulosa; Puccinia aegopodii; Pucciniastrum epilobii; Puccinia acetosae; Heterobasidion annosum and Bjerkandera adusta.
 
15th July 2018 - Eastwood NR, Stalybridge, G. Manchester - Pleurotus ostreatus; Trochila ilicina; Bjerkandera adusta; Phacidium multivalve; Fomitopsis betulinus; Daedaleopsis confragosa; Kuehneromyces mutabilis; Polyporus leptocephalus; Auricularia auricula-judae; Rhytisma acerinum and the myxo Lycogala terrestre were the few fungi noted on a short wander.
 
13th June 2018 - River Mersey, Stockport, Cheshire - Gymnosporangium confusum was identified after a bit of work on the old microscope.
 
9th June 2018 - Eastbrookend CP, G. London - Microstroma juglandis was a surprise find whilst looking at plant galls.
 
9th June 2018 - Hornchurch CP, G. London - Conocybe apala was defying the drought and showcasing a couple of sporophores.
 
8th June 2018 - Thurrock Thameside, G. London - Puccinia oxalidis was a new one for us whilst we pootled around this nice area.
 
7th June 2018 - Draycote Water, Warwickshire - Phallus impudicus and Paxillus involutus were 2 nice surprises whilst looking for bugs and birds.
 
3rd June 2018 - Ainsdale Sands, Lancashire - Chrysomyxa pirolata and Pleospora herbarum were two nice finds on a general wildlife walk.
 
27th May 2018 - Gatley Carrs, Stockport, Cheshire - A woodchop pile and Agrocybe rivulosa was in residence - who else?
 
26th May 2018 - Sankey Valley, Cheshire - Plasmopora densa and Puccinia veronicae were picked out whilst looking for bugs.
 
24th May 2018 - Marbury CP, Cheshire - Puccinia poarum and Uromyces geranii were noted on a walk with several families.
 
21st May 2018 - Etherow CP, Stockport, G. Manchester - Bauhinus marginalis; Microbotryum violaceum and Triphragmium ulmariae kept the fungal eye in whilst looking for bugs.
 
20th May 2018 - River Dee, Cheshire - Puccinia recondita and Puccinia malvacaerum were 2 fungi seen on a hot and dry day.
 
18th May 2018 - Mere Sands Wood, Lancashire - Puccinia phragmitis was in good fruit on the leaves of Broad Leaved Dock.
 
13th May 2018 - Ainsdale Sands, Lancashire - Puccinia smyrnii and Tulostoma brumale were the only fungi noted today.
 
4th May 2018 - Heaton Moor, Stockport, G. Manchester - Puccinia urticae was now starting to appear.
 
1st May 2018 - Heaton Moor, Stockport, G. Manchester - Groundsel was in flower and sporting seeds whilst wearing a patchwork of Puccinia lagenophorae and Albugo tragopogonis.  Puccinia pulverulenta was noted for the first time this year.
 
29th April 2018 - Pot Hole Quarry, Denbighshire - A walk with some folk looking for fungi, I personally saw 29 species but others were noted. My list was:- Albugo candida; Puccinia dactylidis; Uromyces ficariae; Trametes versicolor; Puccinia adoxae; Phragmidium fragariae; Morchella semilibera; Uromyces muscari; Dichomitus campestris; Rhopographus filicinus; Hypoxylon fuscum; Hymenochaete corrugata; Vuilleminia coryli; Entyloma ficariae; Puccinia tumida; Lachnum virgineum; Calocybe gambosa; Daldinia concentrica; Laetiporus sulphureus; Piptoporus betulinus; Geastrum fimbriatum; Auricularia auricula-judae; Xylaria hypoxylon; Rhytisma acerinum; Psathyrella candolleana; Parasola leiocephala; Leptosphaeria doliolum; Dumontinia tuberosa; Conocybe aporos and the myxo Entiridium lycoperdon.
 
22nd April 2018 - Messingham Sand Quarry, Lincolnshire - Disciotis venosa and Strobilurus tenacellus were noted whilst pootling for birdlife.
 
15th April 2018 - Pennington Flash, G. Manchester - Whilst having a walk with the lasses a good cluster of Coprinellus micaceus was seen on some old wood, the wicked wood parasite Kretzschmaria deusta was starting to reappear and 4 good specimens of Polyporus squamosus were just starting to get going.
 
2nd April 2018 - River Mersey, Stockport, Cheshire - Melampsora allii-populina was abundant on the leaves of Ramsons.
 

26th March 2018 - Denso Marston NR, Shipley, W. Yorkshire - Flammulina velutipes; Polyporus brumalis; Daldinia concentrica and Gloeophyllum sepiarium were seen whilst wandering in the sun. We did find some nice mycelium too!

 
16th February 2018 - River Mersey to Abney Hall, Stockport, Cheshire - A walk with the missus, Terana caerulea was back on its usual host, Daldinia fissa was alongside as well as Peniophora incarnata and Mollisia ligni. Loreleia marchantiae was on, of course, Marchantia polymorpha.
 
4th February 2018 - Wyming Brook NR, Sheffield, S. Yorkshire - Another good yomp at a new location, 25 species of fungi were seen, these being:- Exidia nucleata; Exidia glandulosa; Rhytisma acerinum; Byssomerulius corium; Nectria episphaeria; Chaetosphaerella phaeostroma; Phacidium multivalve; Stereum rugosum; Arrhenia retiruga; Tubaria furfuracaea; Dacrymyces stillatus; Puccinia lagenophorae; Ganoderma australe; Heterobasidion annosum; Chondrostereum purpureum; Trametes versicolor; Xylaria hypoxylon; Xylaria carpophila; Mycena haematopus; Fomes fomentarius; Auricularia auricula-judae; Rhopographus filicinus; Taphrina betulina; Stereum hirsutum and Fomitopsis betulina.
 
4th February 2018 - Rivelin Valley NR, Sheffield, S. Yorkshire - A wander at a new place and as per, I feel it is always good to spread the fungal records and get as much on the map from a wide spread of areas. 25 species were noted:- Trametes suaveolens; Albugo candida; Pucciniastrum epilobii; Hypholoma fasciculare; Trametes versicolor; Xylaria hypoxylon; Stereum hirsutum; Bjerkandera adusta; Tubaria furfuracea; Peniophora quercina; Flammulina velutipes; Auricularia auricula-judae; Heterobasidion annosum; Byssomerulius corium; Cylindrobasidium laeve; Ganoderma australe; Trametes gibbosa; Phlebia radiata; Polyporus brumalis; Hyphodontia sambuci; Chondrostereum purpureum; Coprinellus micaceus; Rhytisma acerinum; Puccinia caricina var, ribesii-pendulae and Mensularia radiata.
 
22nd January 2018 - Wright's Wood NR, Stockport, Cheshire - Out on the bike and a quick pootle in the small, tucked away wood. What a quagmire, I came out caked and it was a struggle getting the bike through. 18 species of fungi were noted, these being:- Puccinia caricina var, ribesii-pendulae; Ascocoryne cylichnium; Chondrostereum purpureum; Exidia nucleata; Auricularia auricula-judae; Trametes versicolor; Geastrum triplex; Mycena speirea; Xylaria hypoxylon; Hypoxylon petrinieae; Byssomerulius corium; Trichoderma viride; Sarcoscypha coccinea; Pleurotus ostreatus; Daldinia concentrica; Nectria cinnabarina; Ganoderma australe; Postia subcaesia and Dacrymyces stillatus.
 
21st January 2018 - Chorlton WP. G. Manchester - An awful day but we had a stroll and stretched the old legs. Uromyces muscari; some old specimens of Lycoperdon excipuliformis; 51 examples of Geastrum triplex; some small Sarcoscypha austriaca as well as Arrhenia retiruga; Fomitopsis betulina; Dacrymyces stillatus; Tubaria furfuracea; Stictis stellata; Mycena vitilis; Psathyrella bipellis and Lycoperdon pyriforme were seen along the way.
 
20th January 2018 - River Mersey, Stockport, Cheshire - A bike ride in the rain, 4 fungi noted:- Mycena tennerima; Mycena speirea; Phlebia radiata; Leptosphaeria acuta and Calloria neglecta. Crikey I was gald to get home out of the wretched conditions.
 
14th January 2018 - Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds, W. Yorkshire - A wander around the ruins and a walk down the river. Not much about but we did see:- Pleurotus ostreatus; Flammulina velutipes; Phellinus igniarius; Rhytisma acerinum; Chondrostereum purpureum; Daedaleopsis confragosa and Albugo tragopogonis.
 
14th January 2018 - Rodley NR, Leeds, W. Yorkshire - A birding walk, we saw a few shrooms so put them down for recording purposes:- Dacrymyces stillatus; Daedaleopsis confragosa; Auricularia auricula-judae; Xylaria hypoxylon; Byssomerulius corium; Chondrostereum purpureum; Trametes versicolor; Diatrype disciformis; Ascocoryne sarcoides; Crepidotus cesatii; Bisporella sulfurina; Flammulina velutipes; Exidia thuretiana; Tremella aurantia and Peniophora incarnata were the species noted.
 
5th January 2018 - Tatton Park, Cheshire - A decent walk in search of birds and fungi. 4th January 2018 - Bruntwood Park, Stockport, Cheshire - Cycling away, a few fungi seen:- Kretzschmaria deusta; Hypocrea pulvinata; Fomitopsis betulina; Pleurotus ostreatus; Exidia thuretiana; Stereum gausapatum; Vuilleminia comedens; Peniophora quercina; Flammulina velutipes; Tubaria furfuracea; Trametes gibbosa; Xylaria hypoxylon and Lepista flaccida.
 
3rd January 2018 - Abney Hall, Stockport, Cheshire - Out on the bike, but still staying local. 40 species of fungi today:- Sphaeropsis sapinea; Hormotheca robertiani; Tubaria furfuracea; Daedaleopsis confragosa; Trochila ilicina; Dacrymyces stillatus; Chaetosphaerella phaeostroma; Diatrype stigma; Hypoxylon fragiforme; Scutellinia crinita; Diaporthe samaricola; Phoma samararum; Heterobasidion annosum; Hyphodontia sambuci; Trametes versicolor; Nectria cinnabarina; Nectria episphaeria; Mycena tenerimma; Trichoderma viride; Mycena arcangeliana; Bjerkandera adusta; Ganoderma australe; Sarcomyxa serotina; Diatrypella quercina; Exidia glandulosa; Vuilleminia comedens; Stereum hirsutum; Schizopora paradoxa; Auricularia auricula-judae; Flammulina velutipes; Rhytisma acerinum; Xylaria carpophila; Stereum rugosum; Xylaria hypoxylon; Mycena vitilis; Phragmidium violaceum; Crepidotus cesatii; Exidia thuretiana; Ascocoryne sarcoides and Ascocoryne cylichnium.
