ADULT: Wingspan - 24 - 28mm. A very distinct moth that is seen on the wing throughout the day. The creamy-yellow wings are variably speckled with dark brown markings. LARVA: The larvae feed on Wood Sage and also White Dead Nettle, Woundwort and Yellow Archangel. CHRYSALIS: N/A. BEHAVIOUR: Day-flying feeding on Wood Sage. HABITAT: Woods and scrubland. FLIGHT PERIOD: May to June. STATUS:Common resident becoming scarcer towards the North.
