DESCRIPTION: Black with 2 raised orange spots on
back. White patches run along opposites sides and the whole
caterpillar is covered with gingery brown irritant hairs. When
young found in communal silken nest. FOODPLANT: Hawthorn, blackthorn, dog-rose and sallow. SEASON: August to May. |
