ADULT: Wingspan 31-38 mm. A carpet-like apecies that is a montage of subtle greens, greys and yellows on a grey background. The jagged black cross-line with the white edge is distinctive. CHRYSALIS: N/A. LARVA: N/A. BEHAVIOUR: Attracted to light.  Has feeding preference for lichens. HABITAT: Primarily woodlands and parks. FLIGHT PERIOD: Single brooded.  June to August. STATUS: Resident.  Locally common in southern England.  Rare elsewhere.
